Odd things...
- Home-page is locked and won't change This is often due to home-page highjacks that prevent from changing the homepage.
There's a free utility StartPage Guard at www.spywareinfo.com/downlods/spg that will reset the home page to what you want it to be.
- Can I Remove Internet Explorer? Not really! And even if you do, it will jeopardize other softwares such as Outlook Express. Internet Explorer is very interdependent with Windows that it needs to be present. However, it can be made reduntant by setting you prefered browser to Set As Defaul Browser, as you'll be asked at start up of either Mozilla or Opera.
